The Maryland Vietnamese Mutual Association (MVMA) is a comprehensive community organization dedicated to advancing the Vietnamese American community in the Washington Metropolitan area through direct services, advocacy, and education. The organization empowers families and seniors through direct services and facilitates access to government and private programs, ensuring vulnerable populations receive critical support. MVMA actively advocates for social and economic equality by building awareness, capacity, and solidarity within the community, addressing systemic barriers that Vietnamese Americans face. Additionally, the organization unifies multiple generations by promoting cultural traditions, history, art, and language, fostering pride and connection among youth, adults, and elders. With a professional staff-based structure and formalized programs implemented since 2004, MVMA delivers specific and effective services tailored to the complex, evolving needs of the Vietnamese American community.
